Program History:
|
|
AIRLIFE made its maiden flight on May 9, 1983 to Durango, Colorado. Over our years of service, we added a second helicopter and a plane to our service, a high risk OB team, the AIRLIFE communications center, the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump team, and a dedicated neonatal team. By 2008, AIRLIFE had completed over 40,000 missions and reached 25 years of excellent medical transport service to the Rocky Mountains and surrounding regions, utilizing three Bell 407 helicopters, two Lear31 fixed wing jets, and two CCT ground ambulances. AIRLIFE has bases at Swedish Medical Center, Sky Ridge Medical Center, Presbytarian/St.Lukes Medical Center, Medical Center of Aurora-North Campus, and Frederick/Firestone and completes hundreds of scene and Interfacility transports each year.
